Customer Industry: Audio
Area involved: Electronics / Box Build
Production Requirements: Joint manufacture of a finished product in line with a US production line
Project Delivery: 8 months
Benefit gained through ANR: UK manufacturing resulting in reduced costs (incl. price matching & logistics costs), UK stock holdings and flexible manufacturing.
The story:
ANR were approached to make a high-end audio processor unit. This was already an existing product produced in the US. However our customer was looking for a mirror production line in the UK.
Not only were there complications in the quality of the Bills of Material, matching US specifications for sheet metal and fixings and a global supply chain requirement, but also in managing varying quantity demands.
The unit consisted of in-house PCBA production, but also included project management of third party metal work. There was a wide supply chain through which we had to utilise the most effective and efficient production methods to make the project viable. It involved a complete assembly, tested, packaged and delivered in the UK.
This large contract, which is ongoing for the customer and with the successful roll out from ANR, also included the requirement for further manufacturing quality approvals. It has enabled the customer to manage stock better, improve cash flow and make the UK an affective and profitable manufacturing location.
This project rollout has led to further developments and new project work with the customer and offers a flagship product manufactured in the UK.
